Bio: Jessica Chalnick Licensed Acupuncturist and Herbalist
Hello, my name is Jessica Chalnick. I am a Licensed Acupuncturist and Herbalist, specializing in Women’s Health and Fertility.
After growing up in San Diego, I graduated from the University of California at Santa Barbara with a Pre-Med degree in Bio-psychology. While studying to enter the Western medical field, I encountered many stubborn health problems. I became frustrated when I was told time and time again that my only option for treatment was antibiotics. There was no strategy given for prevention of recurrence, or insight into what was causing these ongoing health problems. I was so dissatisfied with this narrow outlook that I began to look for other treatment options on my own.
My quest to find a more efficient treatment system led me to acupuncture and Chinese medicine. This ancient medicine healed me, and gave me a glimpse into how many possibilities there are in the treatment of so many different ailments.
I went on to receive my Masters of Science in Oriental Medicine from the four-year graduate program at Pacific College of Oriental Medicine, San Diego. Through years of intense study and clinical application at Pacific College, I galvanized my true passion for treating Women’s Health issues and Fertility with acupuncture and Chinese herbal therapy.
There are so many effective treatment alternatives available for Women’s issues that are not typically recognized by the general public. One of my goals is to educate people, and to let them know that these options exist. A great thing about Oriental Medicine is that it can be used so effectively on its own, but also works wonderfully in conjunction with Western medicine. I believe the merging of these two incredibly different systems of medicine result in a huge increase in patient satisfaction.
For example, I accompany many of my patients to various fertility clinics throughout San Diego County to aid in the success of their in vitro fertilization procedures, a wonderful integration of both Eastern and Western techniques. I dedicate my practice to the wide variety of issues that women encounter throughout their lives, and love helping patients heal themselves through Traditional Chinese Medicine.
